A native of Vacherie, Louisiana, Dr. Truesdale began her academic journey at Dillard University in New Orleans, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee. Following dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, gaining advanced training in comprehensive and hospital-based dental care.
Dr. Truesdale practices dentistry with a strong emphasis on the oral-systemic connection—the vital link between oral health and overall health. She is passionate about educating patients on how conditions of the mouth can influence the heart, brain, immune system, and total well-being. Her clinical interests include preventive care, restorative dentistry, root canal therapy, occlusal splint therapy, clear aligner treatment, and emergency dental care.
She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, the International Academy of Mini Dental Implants, and the American Dental Society, and has pursued advanced education through the Pankey Institute and the Vivos Institute.
Dr. Truesdale has been recognized as one of Baltimore’s Top Three-Rated Dentists and was honored during Women’s History Month by the Maryland Air National Guard for her leadership and service. She is frequently invited to speak at schools, churches, and community events, and her work has been featured in dental publications and local media.
Her commitment to service extends far beyond the dental chair. Dr. Truesdale serves as a Major in the Army National Guard and completed a deployment in Afghanistan. She is also a mentor and community leader, volunteering with organizations such as Queens in Transition, First Ladies of Edgewood, and the Dream Maker Network Foundation, and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
In addition to her clinical and military service, Dr. Truesdale earned a Diploma of Ministerial Studies from Spirit of Faith Bible Institute, reflecting her lifelong dedication to leadership, education, and encouragement.
Dr. Truesdale is an active supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association (Maryland) and participates in the Memory Ball, helping raise awareness about the connection between oral health and brain health—an issue close to her heart.
Outside of dentistry, her passions include public speaking, traveling, mentoring, and educating communities. She is also the Co-Host of “Clinical Conversations for Doctors Only,” where she collaborates with fellow professionals to advance conversations around dentistry, leadership, and wellness.
